Top C Cards

Note:  This article looks at player cards with only the C position
designation.

Sidney Crosby has a magical Strat card that represents everything worthy of
his greatness on the ice and of Strat hockey as a game.   He has the number
number 1 EIS and ERB columns for the C position. Overall Crosby ranks number
1 for even scoring columns and number 3 for power play columns.   The DEF
along with the SK and PASS ratings make him one of the top two players in
this set.   Niklas Backstrom turns into a pure force at both ends of the ice
in his third season.   The RB columns for E and PP situations make him a
very dangerous weapon on the Strat roster.

Anze Kopitar has a big C card in this set.  The PIS and PRB columns along
with the OFF-4 rating represent the biggest source of value.  Dave Krejci,
Mike Modano and Antoine Vermette have good scoring columns but the OFF-3
limits the number of shot chances.  Mike Richards posts his third
consecutive quality Strat card and he has a number of years left in his
Strat career.

Veteran Brad Richards checks in with his best card since the 2006-07 set.
The card is very powerful with the PIS and PRB columns.  Injuries limited
Jason Spezza this season but the scoring columns are there.   He's not a top
six forward for most Strat coaches given the DEF rating liability.  Scott
Gomez is not much shooting in even-strength situations but he makes up for
it on the power play.

The scoring columns are a little down for the third Jonathan Toews card but
he's a DEF-5 and still bring killer value on the PP end.  There's not a
tremendous number of pure C cards with the DEF-5 so any time you have one
it's a real bonus for draft league play.  Rookie Matt Duchene has a very
solid rookie card and he'll contribute immediately and significantly for his
Strat owner.

Rookie John Tavares is a little weak on the even strength columns but makes
up for it on the power play.   This is a great rookie card and a good sign
of things to come in his career.  Travis Zajac probably comes up with his
"career" card or at least upper end of his talent scale.  The shooting
columns plus the DEF-5 will provide a big bonus to the draft league roster.

Rich Peverley emerges as a solid full-time player in his fifth season.
He's not the greatest defensive performer but he looks very solid in the
larger draft leagues.  This Patrice Bergeron card should probably be thought
of as his upper Strat valuation end.   Bigger things may have been expected
of him after his sophomore season but he never has recaptured that scoring
touch.
